LCM Issue – Detailed Log to debug

How to capture the LCM logging information in 11.1.2.x environment?

For detailed logging the setting of TRACE:32 needs to be set in the logging.xml file for the LCM subsystem.

1) For migrations run from Hyperion Shared Services UI, the LCM operations are logged into SharedServices_LCM.log.

This is located under Oracle_Home/Middleware/user_projects/domains/EPMSystem/servers/FoundationServices0/logs folder.

To set the logger level to trace for this file you need to edit the logging.xml by setting the logging to set logging to TRACE:32 for the epmlcm-handler.

Logging.xml is defined under

Oracle_Home/Middleware/user_projects/domains/EPMSystem/config/fmwconfig/servers/FoundationServices0
2) For migrations running from Command Line Utility, there will be a separate log created for each migration of the format LCM**.log.

These logs get generated under the folder:
<EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE>\diagnostics\logs\migration folder.

To set the logger level to trace for this file you need to edit the logging.xml by setting the logging to set logging to TRACE:32 for the epmlcm-handler.

Logging.xml is defined under

<EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE>\config\FoundationServices\logging.xml.

Below is an example of the TRACE:32

<logger level=”TRACE:32″ name=”oracle.EPMLCM” useParentHandlers=”false”>
<handler name=”epmlcm-handler”/>
</logger>
&lt;log_handler class=”oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLHandlerFactory” level=”<strong>TRACE:32</strong>” name=”epmlcm-handler”&gt;
