@XREF Function Fails In Essbase – Error(1040048) HTTP communication failed with error [Timeout was reached]

Setting location alias for the Budget Planning application in Essbase.
An initial test works fine, but when finally setting the location Alias it hangs and times out.

Error: Local////Error(1040048) HTTP communication failed with error [Timeout was reached]]

The cause for this is Essbase servername “EssbaseCluster-1” is not working in this specific setup (distributed installation)

The server name needs to be indentifiable by all involved servers

Use the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) of the hostname instead of “EssbaseCluster-1”

Using Maxl: (In EAS Console -> File -> Editors -> Maxl Editor), change the location alias as follows:

login ‘<admin>’ ‘<password>’ on ‘<EssbaseServerFDQN>’;

create location alias ‘<myLocationAliasName>’ from ‘<SourceApplication>’.'<SourceDazabase>’ to ‘<TargetApplication>’.'<TargetDatabase>’ at ‘<EssbaseServerFDQN>’ as ‘<locationalias-user>’ identified by ‘<password>’;

display location alias all;
