After applying EPM Patch Set Update 220.127.116.11.500, when attempting to refresh the Planning database, the following error occurs.
Unable to connect to Hyperion Essbase. Verify that Hyperion Essbase is running and check your network connections.
This is an issue with the Essbase RTC client, which has been corrupted. All products using the Runtime client are not working correctly when connecting to Essbase.
- Rename the following folders from the Planning server to .old
C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\EssbaseRTC to EssbaseRTCold
C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\EssbaseRTC-64 to EsbaseRTC64old
- Copy those same folders from the Essbase server to the Planning server
- Restart the Planning service and test again
